Soft Enamel lapel pins are the best option for those who want a heavy-feeling, high-quality pin. Soft Enamel refers to the liquid paint that is used, but the process is also called Die Struck, because the art is stamped into a piece of metal (usually zinc alloy, brass or copper). Each of the colors are separated by walls of the base metal. These recessed areas are then filled in
with a single paint color in each of the spaces. The colors that you can use are determined by a Pantone Matching System (PMS) color guide, the industry standard. The raised metal edges are highly polished. We recommend a thin coating of clear epoxy be added to this type of pin to increase durability, discourage dirt collection and prevent chipping. Cutouts, stones, lights, glitter paint are just some of the options that can be added to your soft enamel lapel pin to enhance your design.
For a special dimensional look, try our Die Struck pins without adding color. The base metal can be plated with gold, silver or nickel, and can be antiqued, sandblasted, or highly polished.

Laser Printed pins are similar in nature to Offset Printed pins, with the primary difference being that the colors must be solid in nature. The pin design is actually printed directly on the metal in various stages. When completed, the pins are stamped out of the sheets of stainless steel and given a protective thin epoxy coating on top of the design.
Offset Printed Lapel pins are perfect for reproducing photographs or artwork with gradients (or shading) of colors. Offset printed lapel pins are a great option for detailed designs, and artwork
can exactly replicate the original design. Offset Printed Lapel pins are made by printing the design onto a series of plates and then transferring it to a piece of stainless steel. A thin layer
of clear epoxy coating is then added to protect the pin and keep the design from fading, scratching or cracking.

Photo Etched pins are made by using an acid process to transfer your image on to a thin metal plate. Then each color will be applied by hand to your pins after the pins are cut from the sheet of metal. Photo etched pins are slightly thinner (.8mm versus 1.2mm) than other processes but being made of copper or brass they remain a very durable and attractive option. As with
Stamped pins all of the colors have to be separated by a wall of the base metal with a thin layer of epoxy being added to ensure long wear and durability.

Epola pins are made using the same technique as Cloisonné, but the recessed spaces are filled with a hard epoxy enamel rather than glass. The Epola filling gives a beautiful, high

Cloisonné Lapel pins are the highest quality pin that you can purchase. Equivalent to a piece of jewelry, they are made by stamping a piece of metal to create wells. Those wells are then filled with ground glass, the glass is melted, polished, another color is added and the process is repeated until it is completed. With this process, there is no need for the thin epoxy coating
as the colors are flush with a surface of the pin. An alternate to the limited glass colors available for Cloisonné is Epola, which is very similar, but the pin colorations are available in a
wider variety of options.
